This recent turnover underscores the ongoing commitment of Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) to support the Philippine government’s fleet modernization initiatives. By delivering transport solutions designed for long-term use, the company aims to ensure consistent reliability, durability, and operational efficiency over time.

With units of the Philippine Army stationed across the country, the newly delivered trucks are expected to improve mobility and overall operational readiness. Backed by Isuzu’s strong reputation for durability and its extensive nationwide service network with accessible spare parts, these vehicles are built to handle demanding conditions and sustain long-term field operations.

The ceremonial turnover was headed by Executive Vice President Yasuhiko Oyama, alongside Major General Florante Piol Sison, Commander of the Support Command of the Philippine Army, together with other key officials.

Oyama stated that Isuzu has consistently been a reliable partner for various sectors and institutions in the country, contributing to mobility and national development. He added that the company is proud to further extend its support to national defense by providing vehicles that will assist the Philippine Army in carrying out its mission to serve and protect the Filipino people.

Isuzu Trucks: Designed for Long-Term Reliability

Serving on the frontlines of national defense and disaster response, the Philippine Army requires transport solutions that combine strength with efficiency. The chosen Isuzu trucks are specifically built to meet these rigorous demands, delivering consistent and reliable performance across a wide range of challenging environments.

According to Isuzu Philippines Corporation (2026), the Isuzu NPS and FTS trucks are both built with a 4×4 drivetrain, allowing military personnel to operate confidently across uneven, unpaved, and mountainous terrain. This feature plays a vital role in missions conducted in remote provincial regions, where limited accessibility makes dependable transportation essential to achieving operational objectives.

The Isuzu NPS, part of the brand’s highly popular N-Series light-duty range, is equipped with the 4HK1-TCN Blue Power Diesel Engine. It delivers an effective mix of power and fuel efficiency, helping optimize operating costs while maintaining consistent performance in various conditions. Its relatively compact size, combined with 4×4 capability, enhances maneuverability in both urban areas and remote locations.

Meanwhile, the Isuzu FTS trucks from the F-Series lineup serve as medium-duty units designed for heavier loads and extended operations. Powered by the 6HK1-TCN engine producing 240 PS and 706 Nm of torque, the FTS offers the necessary power, traction, and stability for transporting troops and equipment over long distances, steep terrain, and challenging off-road environments.

Each unit is fitted with troop carrier bodies manufactured by F. Cura Industries, a well-established builder recognized for producing durable and high-quality body designs. These configurations are built to endure demanding field conditions, ensuring safety, reliability, and long-term use.

As noted by Isuzu Philippines Corporation (2026), both the NPS and FTS models meet EURO IV emission standards, highlighting the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible solutions while supporting the government’s fleet modernization initiatives.

With the support of Isuzu’s extensive nationwide dealership network, the Philippine Army is assured of reliable aftersales service and access to genuine spare parts, helping maintain high vehicle availability and operational efficiency.

Through its continued collaboration with key government agencies such as the Philippine Army, Isuzu Philippines Corporation reinforces its position as a trusted partner in nation-building—providing transport solutions that combine strong performance with long-term value for the country’s mobility and operational needs.
